There Is No Place Like Chicago

With no offense to any other places I love living in the Chicago area. We moved here 22 years ago and we've visited other cities but my love for this city is special.  No summer passes by without multiple visits to the downtown area.

Chicago is known as the Windy City. It is also known for its skyscrapers, like the Sears Tower and the John Hancock Center, and its sparkling lights all over the streets at night time.

Last weekend my husband and I went to Navy Pier, a tourist spot downtown. We enjoy walking around there and looking out onto Lake Michigan as the sailboats pass by, birds flying overhead, and people having good time.

Hubby took me on a dining cruise on Lake Michigan for my birthday. We had a great time, delicious food, a great view, and a full moon above us as we watched the fireworks :).

There is always something happening at Navy Pier! Spectacular fireworks every Wednesday and Saturday during summer time till Labor Day. I encourage everyone who comes to Chicago to go visit the downtown area and, of course, The Magnificent Mile on Michigan Ave.

Enjoy the views as well.

  6. Your photos look beautiful. I haven't been to Chicago yet but would love to visit someday. A friend from there told me it's not as windy as the name makes it out to be. Is that true?

  8. Thanks Petite:) Chicago is not the windiest city in the United States
Actually it was nicknamed the Windy City not for the wind but for the politicians and city boosters who were full of "hot air." LOL

  9. It looks like a great place to visit - and I bet the climate during the summer is much better than South Texas! A dinner cruise and fireworks for your birthday - you must have picked yourself quite a guy.
